Jetflight is one of the strongest cats in Riverclan, and has wits to compliment it. These factors are what have caused him to gain a significant amount of popularity amongst his clanmates, with some suggesting he has more people behind him than Flowerstar. This has lead to him being rather cocky, and not afraid of crossing any lines when talking to fellow warriors, apprentices, and even Flowerstar a few times. These tense situations have been resolved fairly quickly, however.

He's keen on hazing Snowpoppy, as he believes she chose to be a Medicine Cat due to her simply lacking the courage to become a warrior. He also enjoys hazing newer warriors and apprentices, using it as some kind of test to see if they can actually cut it in Riverclan. He's not very emotional a lot of the time, as he believe other clans could notice and take advantage of the vulnerability, especially since he's in as high of a role as deputy. On top of this, he's not keen on any of the other clans, believing and alliances would end up with Riverclan blood worthlessly spilled.

Despite all this, he still remains respectful of his elders and the queens, for all they've done for the Clan in his eyes, and makes sure they get fed well, at times not eating himself so they could feed themselves and the kits. He's also ferociously protective of Oliveclaw, and while he respects her ability as a warrior (having mentored her himself), he still feels as her mate he has a duty to make sure she is well. This does pale in comparison to his love for his Clan, who he wants to see become the best it can be, and though he doesn't admit it often, he sees the fire of a fighter in near every Apprentice and Warrior, sometimes a fire that almost matches his in his own mind.

Background & Kithood

Jetflight was born to a ginger male cat, Cinderpelt, and a black she-cat, Stoneclaw. He was in a litter of three; Ashpaw left the Clan, as she didn't believe in Starclan. However, his other sibling, Blacktail, is still a loyal warrior of Riverclan, and while he isn't as strong or popular as Jetfight, he has some knowledge of medicine, due to his friendship with Echosong until her unfortunate death.

Jetflight was looked after well as a kit. His parents both nurtured him and his siblings, and the other queens and kits were nice company also. Neither parent died during his kithood, and he was sheltered well, while hearing tales of the warriors that had come before him. He was confident as he approached Apprentice age that he would be destined for great things, and that those who shared the den with him would one day be referring to him as Jetstar the Great. Usually this kind of talk was followed by his siblings and other kits grouping up and play-fighting with him, ending in him dramatically meeting his demise.

Apprentice

Jetkit became Jetpaw, and his mentor, Dapplenose, was excellent for him. She believed in pushing her apprentices as far as they felt they could go, and then pushing just a bit further. This form of training, over a number of moons, allowed him to learn what he needed to, while gradually improving his abilities as a cat, from his hunting to his strengths and reflexes.

He sustained many scratches and other wounds, but he would keep going, trying to prove to his mentor day after day that he was prepared to go as far as he needed to be there for his Clan. This impressed Dapplenose, but at times worried her, as she thought he'd run himself into the ground with that kind of attitude. She'd send him to the Medicine Cat, Echosong, but he had a disliking for going to see her, as he felt he'd be better off training more. This dislike was furthered when Echosong bought some deeper wounds to Flowerstars attention, and she told him to take a few days off of training to make sure they didn't reopen and require more resources to be used up. This lengthened Jetpaw’s time as an apprentice by a couple of moons, something he's never forgiven her for, as Blacktail was promoted before him.

At the age of 10 moons, Ashpaw left the Clan, she told Jetpaw and Blackpaw, but didn't want to tell the others, as she felt they'd wish to force her back into Clan life, which seemed implausible to her as she didn't believe in Starclan. Jetflight and Blacktail were understanding at first, but after some time, Jetpaw felt betrayed by his own kin, as a future warrior lost was damaging for the Clan.

Eventually, at the age of 15 moons, he was finally promoted to Warrior, and he was given the name Jetflight, as while his strength was above average, at the time of his Warrior ceremony, he was more agile than strong. He was proud of himself, as he'd finally truly began his journey to becoming Clan Leader.

Warrior

Since becoming a warrior, Jetflight has proved time and time again that his loyalty to the Clan is second to none. He has improved himself further, and has kept outsiders off his clan’s territory successfully many times. He rarely misses a patrol he's asked to go on (and sometimes goes on patrols he wasn't asked to go on), only missing patrols when he's forced to wait because of injuries,

He's been mates with Oliveclaw for 10 moons now, and while they don't have kits yet, they'd like to have some to further bolster the Clan, and carry on their lineage.

8 moons ago, Jetflight joined Echosong on a patrol for some herbs along the Shadowclan border. When he came back, she was dead. He told the Clan that she had fell through some ice and got stuck, drowning. The Clan believed him. He wasn't upset, but at this point the Clan knew his disdain for her and medicine cats in general, so they understood that while he was mournful of the loss of a Clan mate, he wasn't shaken due to not caring much for her outside of her Clan.

A similar fate fell upon the previous Deputy, Silverpelt, 1 moon ago. She was leading a patrol with Jetflight and Blacktail. They were to patrol the border between them and Thunderclan. Only Jetflight and Blacktail returned alive, battered and bruised. They said a group of Rogues ambushed them, and that they had killed Silverpelt before the duo even knew what was happening. They got out alive, but not without having a few chunks knocked off of each of them. They'd returned Silverpelt home, so the Clan could share tongues with her one last time.

Flowerstar was enraged, but while her Clan demanded they go after these rogues, she refused to, saying that the Clan would waste energy looking for these rogues. The whole Clan Rose up in anger, furious Flowerstar was seemingly letting them go. Jetflight provided a voice of reason, saying while he wished he could have killed more of the rogues, they would be gone at this point. Flowerstar had already made her mind up. Jetflight was her deputy.
